turbo slim day 1
With only 20 days to go before we are driving to Myrtle Beach, I’ve decided to try to get back on the actual diet that came with the Turbo Jam Videos, called “Turbo Slim” 10-day Kick start. I was doing ok with the Advanced Turbo Jam Rip-You-Up Rotation (it floats around the internet, but originated from Chalene) for about 8 days, but then things got crazy and it was just impossible to ALWAYS be doing two workouts a day, and I wasn’t doing a thing about my eating. The 10-day Turbo Slim diet claims that if you really stick to it and are serious, you can lose up to 10 lbs. The weird thing about it is that you eat a TON of eggs (mainly whites). It has a ton of options, and you can mix and match them all if you don’t like certain things. I AM going to try salmon though (Brian will be happy).
I did try this when I first started Turbo Jamming, and did NOT lose 10 lbs, in fact did not lose ANY lbs – but I also did not really stick to the diet very well and I was at the very beginning of my fitness training so I couldn’t finish any of the workouts as I would get so tired! My metabolism hadn’t changed at all yet… etc.
I actually have a pair of NY&Co Capris hanging over my mirror in my bedroom. I can’t get into them (as well as many of my summer clothes from last year) and I refuse to buy an entirely new wardrobe so I have to get back into those clothes.
Today’s meals are:
Breakfast: Waffle w/cottage cheese, blueberries and turkey bacon (I adapted a few parts because I didn’t have the food–to light yogurt and deli turkey breast)
Snack: Rasp Protein Smoothie (rasp, protein powder, skim milk)
Lunch: Tuna Salad (will be using a diff meat here as I hate tuna), romain, spinach, onion, egg, olive oil, mustard (weird)
Snack: Celery/Peanut Butter
Dinner: Chicken and Snow Pea Stir-Fry on Brown Rice (this is going to be really hard because I’m going out to dinner tonight – so I’m just going to have to choose really carefully)
Workout: Cardio Party 1 (I might choose a diff one, CP1 is my least favorite)
Beginning weight: (ok, I’m not going to reveal that much
) If the challenge is successful, I’ll let you know at the end.
I’m going to try to post my workout, how I’m feeling, etc. and food every day to keep myself accountable. Hopefully it’s not boring for you all.
Afterworkout Update: Well, as usual, I successfully got through the entire workout even though I pulled a muscle in my back and hip on the right side. I anticipate it will feel better by tomorrow, but right now ouch. Turbo Jam for people with bad backs is not really a good idea. But what do you do when it’s the only workout other than straight walking that you really like?? I’m getting a bit hungry again but mainly thirsty. It’s about time for my morning snack.
End of Day Update: Well, the dinner choice was O’Charley’s, and basically the only healthy thing I could find other than a salad was the Grilled Chicken Breast with Rice Pilaf and Vegetable Medley. I said no to all bread and a spinach artichoke & chips appetizer (one of my favorites). I also did NOT get Bruster’s when everyone else did. It was sort of like torture. I just had two bites of my hubbies.
I'd love it if you subscribed to my RSS feed.

I did CP3 Saturday for the first time- my back hurt all day long after that! Yesterday I did 3T plus about a half hour walk. This morning I did the live workout. I was kind of sluggish while working out this morning. I have not been eating the greatest lately, but at least I worked out!

P.S. I’m trying to lose at least 5 lbs. before a wedding we are going to this month- I’m hoping that one of my dresses will fit better. Otherwise I may be out shopping.

Be careful! I imagine that Turbo Jam doesn’t really give you the option to start out slow, but it is no good getting hurt this early in the game. It may just add to your frustration.
Good luck with your diet and exercise plan!
