turbo slim day 2
This morning I weighed about 2.5 lbs less then yesterday (I think because I weighed mid-way through the day yesterday). So that was encouraging. I am still pretty sore from yesterday’s intense workout, so I think today I’m going to take a long walk/run around the neighborhood to mix it up, and if I feel better after work I’ll do some strength training later on tonight.
Last night was a huge victory for me. We went out with some good friends last night who we haven’t spent time with in months and months. O Charley’s was the restaurant choice, and I will say other than one salad and the grilled chicken breast, there are no healthy choices on their menu. So I got the Grilled chicken breast with rice pilaf and mixed veggies even though I would have killed for something fried and greasy and carby. But the best part was: I passed up Spinach & Artichoke Dip with tortilla chips (one of my favorite appetizers), I passed up all the extra wonderful coated bread, and I passed up dessert at Brusters (I did take 2 bites of hubbies – he is doing really well keeping me accountable but not making me miserable)
Kristin and I were talking about how the mindset has to be different. Instead of saying “wellllll ok i’ll just have this that one time” the attitude needs to be, “You can eat this, and no, you can’t have a bowl of ice cream at 11:00 pm, because you don’t need it, and you’re not really hungry for it. No, you shouldn’t have that second piece of bread, and you shouldn’t have a second cupcake.” It’s not total denial, but it does absolutely take a lot of mental control.
Today’s Meals
Breakfast: Mainly egg white omelet with 1 cup veggies (bell peppers, tomato, broccoli) and a tiny bit of fat-free shredded cheddar. Pepper for taste
Snack: Rasp/various berry protein smoothie
Lunch: Turkey Sandwich (1 slice whole wheat bread, lettuce, tomato, veggies)
Snack: Cottage Cheese with Paprika (I’m doing celery/peanut butter instead)
Dinner: Salmon, Asparagus and Salad (Either I’ll be going to the grocery store, or I’ll have chicken instead. I might even do a lean cuisine depending on how I’m feeling tonight – Dinner is going to be the hardest one to stick to)
My main issue is that the sweet stuff is very low on today’s menu. I’m going to have to incorporate more fruit or something, because I need SWEET stuff, especially as the day goes on!!!
