inspiration
Copying off of Inspired by Danielle’s posts on who has been inspiring her lately, I thought I’d share a few of mine as well. Unfortunately I only have direct contact with a few of these wonderful people, but hey, they’re still inspiring.
Everything about this site is beautiful. The work, the layout, the smoothness, the simplicity, the colors. I keep trying to close the tab in my browser but I always want to look at it and go through all the navigation and pieces.
What gorgeous, unique and raw but clear photography. I’m probably biased because 1) he’s famous and 2) I saw he photographed Brooke Fraser (one of my favorite female artists of all time), Adie, Dave Barnes, Vicki Beeching, Imogen Heap and Chris Tomlin as well as many other famous celebrities and musicians. The photos truly make you suck in your breath. The site even has the ability to go full-screen which is pretty neat. What an incredible artist!
I have to include her here because as of late, her work is changing as she is changing the face of Grace church visually. I can’t disclose any of it yet, but the logo got an upheaval, she designed some killer stationary, and the website is also going to get design + efficiency changes. I’m excited to help with it all and be part of it!! And not only does she do that, but she organizes and keeps on track of the cleft palette area of Hamot hospital, as well as designing beautiful wedding invitations. Somehow she is always discovering new things and is able to digest them and expel them more than anyone else I know. She’s also working her butt off, all the time; I would dare to call her one of the hardest working young women I know in my life. Despite hardships, she continues to press on. As an added bonus, she’s one of my best friends and understands who I am and my weaknesses and strengths better than almost anyone.
I’ve talked about them before, but both are still on regular rotations on my itunes, and challenging me in how I worship and live my life. When you really start to worship with your full heart and gifts, in everything, it really challenges you in real ways. Scary ways. But good ways.
I love her blog/site as well as her work. The galleries are beautiful…. and today, she posted about the shootsac – which, of course, I now really really want. It sounds so great. My camera bag is very sturdy and great for transporting things, but I could never carry it around with me while I was photographing things. This seems like it could absolutely change the way you are able to do things. Now, if I only had a few more lenses to put in my bag….
Katie is like my little sister in a lot of ways, but not in her design. She’s spunky, classic, and edgy all at the same time. Just check out her blog header and inspiral designs…I can’t wait to see her wedding invitations and other stuff, based on the awesome little “will you be my bridesmaid” cards she sent to her girls. (I don’t have an image of it, but trust me it’s cute – she said she’ll post them both in the next few weeks)
Tracy, a.k.a. Prickly Pear Bloom
Tracy has been inspiring me since I began my WordPress blog, and become a blogging friend through the process. Her photography and hand-made projects are raw, soft and comfortable, and her design projects are awesome. She’s even been brave enough to do 365 days of self-portraits…while going to school, designing, working, and just doing TONS. I don’t know how she has the time and motivation to be so inspired and keep herself so fresh, but she manages – and that is the most inspiring part.
I wish I sewed, but I don’t. But if you’re looking for someone who does and does it well and has a knack for beautiful fabrics and patterns? Look no further. The pillows especially are to die for. She even has eco-friendly dishware.
Tomorrow, why my family is inspiring.
Following that, why my friends are inspiring.
I'd love it if you subscribed to my RSS feed.
