bizzzHappy 28th Birthday! I hope it is an incredible day for you. You are so funny, smart, a committed teacher and friend and so witty and fantastic. Anyone who has you as a friend is totally blessed!

I know we don’t get to talk often, but I am so so so excited about the things we share and that you entered into Brian’s life in college and are still part of our lives today! I can’t WAIT to see you in a few weeks!!! And I love that I can be my crazy Twilight self around you, and you don’t look down at me or laugh at me, but think the obsession is awesome :)

2524592684_29c7b9e739It’ s Danielle’s 30th Birthday today. She’s been writing an INCREDIBLE series of posts called 30till30 on her blog. You should check them out. I really think they should be published or printed in some fashion. It’s been one of the most incredible tributes to those people and events in her life that have shaped her, and to be able to look back with such introspection and clarity shows such a beautiful spirit and discernment like I’ve never seen in my life.

First of all, isn’t Danielle one of the most beautiful names ever?Danielle and I have been friends for many, many years. We’ve worshipped together, cried together, created together, gotten married together, designed together, photographed together, watched tv together, commiserated on stress together, planned the future together . I still remember the day she thought she might be moving to Chicago and we were in her car. It is one of those moments you won’t forget. And her wedding day, by the mirror before walking down the aisle.

Being friends with Danielle means knowing someone who is hilarious, beautiful, SMART, unpredictable, creative (so so so creative), quite possibly the most talented artist/girl I know, wise, loyal, generous, introspective, a blogging/social networking genius, sweet, gentle, patient, loving, passionate about Christ, and you will always create life-long memories with. I can’t believe you’re 30 . . . I can’t wait to see what the next years of your life hold.

Danielle, You wrote me this little note sometime in late high school…. and I keep it in my office right on my billboard in front of my face. It’s one of the awesome encouragement notes I’ve ever received (and of course the most beautifully drawn/designed even then) I love you so much – I can’t convey how much love I have for you, your life, your work and your family. I want to tell you all the time how amazing you are but I think it would be a bit extreme.

Please be MY friend forever.
