Hey everyone! I was sooo happy to get outside and get to photography Lindsey, Sarah & Katharyn today. S&K flew in from Texas to hang out with their friend Lindsey who’s been living in cold Erie for a few years now. They also surprised her with their long-time friend Darla – more pictures to come with her included. Here’s a few favorite moments from this morning. It was so warm out – now we just need all that foliage to fill in

katie & mike, stephany catering: erie pa wedding photography

Back in 2009, when I was pregnant and losing my mind, I shot a ton of weddings that I never even had a chance to blog or share! This was one. It was for Katie and Mike. I have been honored to know them both for a very long time, and Katie is one of my sister’s best friends. They had a casual, funky and awesome wedding held all at Stephany Catering. I remember that it was overcast and rainy in the morning but then perfect the rest of the day (except very muggy) but this so-in-love fresh and funky couple did not care!

Because I’m craving warmth and shooting outside in the sun and green again, I dug through my archives to warm up. Here were a few of my favorites

These girls are the best. I love this pose, need to rememeber to use it again, and lots!

Could anyone else pull off this necklace ensemble on their wedding day? doubt it!

Seriously, this couple is one of the most in-love-affectionate-make-you-want-to-puke-but-in-a-good-way couples I’ve ever met or photographed

There first dance was in the evening outside, and there were gnats everywhere. However I like to pretend they were little sparkly fairies

merry christmas

In lieu of paper cards this year, mainly because we don’t have the $$ to send a christmas card to everyone of you in the mail since we love you all so much, I designed a little digital one for the world.

We love you all, and have had an incredible year, with the birth of our daughter Chloe our lives have been totally changed for the better. She is our light and laughter, and the joy of both of our families! My sister got married this year to an awesome young man, Josh, and we are so happy to have him in our family. We were blessed enough to take a trip to Myrtle Beach with Brian’s family in september, and then to Maryland for Thanksgiving with Chloe where she ate her first thanksgiving treats Chloe is growing and learning and we are just trying to hang on for the ride! 2010 saw a great year of business for Rachel’s business, Puremotif, as well, and is set for some big changes in 2011 and I can’t wait to annouce them and show you our new look! Brian saw a lot of changes at Grace this year as well, and has begun preaching more and accepting new responsibilities as a Pastor.

We couldn’t have asked for more and are so thankful for all the ways that our friends and family have been near us, reached out to us, and helped us during our first year as parents!

My good friend Christa just worked on a website for our mutual friend CJ Kilroy! I being the lucky girl I am got to take her portraits for it. We had a lot of fun and I think they turned out great, really capturing her happy and positive personality! Here’s a few of my favorites from the shoot itself, and you can see some more here.

nicole & matt – erie, pa wedding photography

Nicole and Matt got married in September of 09. Their wedding was so simple yet beautiful and complex somehow. I was so excited to get to shoot it, not only because the bride & groom were beautiful as well as having a smokin wedding party, but because Nicole is one of my sister’s great friends and it’s always an honor to shoot for friends and family! There were some beautiful details from the day and I think Nicole & Matt were really happy. Here are some more pictures if you want to see a more complete set, and following are a few favorites.

Pregnant lady down in the water balancing on rocks, always fun to get these shots

I’d never done pictures/group shots across from Union Station at the post office – the light was absolutely perfect to reflect that blue sky and the dresses went with the columns. Very excited about these pics!

Welcome to my new site!

I have been working with the amazing Jason Rhodes who wanted to undertake some custom WordPress coding, flickr integration, etc., to make this site exactly what I wanted, and so it could finally match my branding. The design is all me, the technology is alllll him. It is finally done and I am really excited about having a site that is functional and simple and I feel like shows who I am a lot better than my old one. For the blog feed, you may have to change to http://www.puremotif.com/feed instead of /blog. Please work with me and change it in your readers!

I’ve been upping the anty on my branding, making matching folios and business cards to give to clients. I realized I needed this as I felt silly giving my clients loose paper stacks Nothing fancy just some goodies, paperwork and a beautiful simple sleeve that matches my business cards and now my site!

Anyway – enjoy, and I’d love to hear any thoughts on the new site – although I’ll ward this one off right now — I know it loads slower. We’re working on it, but with the loading slower comes a lot of convenience and continuity with using wordpress and flickr. So – anything else, though, is welcome

Brooke & Freeland are newlywed friends of my good friends Christie & Bill, and I was looking for a model to try the Ryan Brenizier technique before the cherry blossoms were gone, and they so graciously volunteered! We had an awesome time and they turned out so gorgeous! Thanks again, guys.

Meeting Heather through a comment on her blog and then the rest of the GTG girls in my breakout into the photography field has been so awesome. They have helped and encouraged me so much, and I was thrilled to work with Heather on something for her business that could help polish her image. She had her colors chosen already, so we worked with them and had a few meetings to really establish what she was looking for. Sometimes you don’t know until you see it whether you like it or don’t. She pushed me hard on this – and I’m glad she did. I think we came out with a beautiful mark for her, inspired from a bunch of different places, and spent a ton of time choosing the mark and the typeface itself. We went for a purchased rather than a free one for the script because having a professional font that actually costs something (even if it’s not a ton) really makes you have the edge over others who are just ripping off the latest and funkiest free font off the internet (not that there is anything wrong with them – they are just more prevalent)

Heather – I hope you are so happy with your logo, and I’m excited to see you’ve already applied it to your website and pictures as a new watermark.
