Ok so… I had a really nice post that updated you all on what I’ve been up to the last 4 days… and wordpress keeps signing me out and lost it. I’m a bit perturbed. Just know the last 4 days have been fun but crazy and very productive.

At the last minute, a group of exciting wedding vendors got together to talk about our first Erie Wedding Professionals meeting. I am honored to be a part of the group, especially being new to this particular industry. Luckily, what I’m not new to is creating graphics for websites With the help of Heather Mencer and Heather Neckers-Kinal we had a crash session and came up with this concept which I worked on Sunday night for MyErieWedding.com, run by John Gallagher. I hope to help translate it’s modern feel to the rest of the site in the future.

What else is new? I’m winding down to 13 days left at my 5 year art director job. There are such a mix of emotions at this stage in life. I’m sad, but so excited to stop juggling so many things and be able to focus on one thing (well many things, but with one focus) It’s weird how *aware* you are of the time running down.

Can’t wait to post about the important people’s birthdays coming up at the end of the week.

signs of spring

making me SOOOOO happy yesterday were these signs of spring hiding underneath the fall leaves we never had a chance to rake up due to the early snowfall. I know it will probably snow again, but the warmth and the beauty of seeing some light fresh greens and yellows made me jump for joy. literally – on the street. I was so excited!

This weekend is looking CRAZY BUSY. If you are my client and you are waiting on me – I promise, you will be getting something from me this weekend. I haven’t forgotten you!

Thanks for choosing me to shoot your wedding guys. It was an honor. Disc is on it’s way and then we can start designing your album… yay!

*On select photos, I used a new set of actions from Red Leaf Studios. Absolutely beautiful soft/warm black & whites that I’m excited to use on new weddings coming up in 2009. And of course some have my favorites from Totally Rad Actions as well!

I know, it’s almost time for another weekend. This little girl is Michelle’s niece McKenzie, daughter of Sam and Kyle. We visited them during the downtime between Christa’s wedding and reception. She is adorable and loves to be cuddled. I got to hold her for an amazing 10-15 minutes, not a peep just snuggling! The little boy is her brother Nathan. I just love that blonde hair!!! He didn’t want to have his picture taken at first, but then I couldn’t get him OUT of the frame. My only issue with the photos is my ISO was set really high from being in the church, and I forgot to change it back. But the noise is ok in some of the photos, it sort of ads to the graininess. Plus I’m not sure I’d have been able to catch some of the detail without it.

I just love the sparkles in the eyes that this effect helped bring out

Also there are only 3 kittens left who need a home from my grandma’s gorgeous litter. Let me know if you are interested in giving one a wonderful home! This is Annie, the only female left. There are 2 boys, Gepeto and Jasper – they are all awesome.

Now to bed as work is going to be very very early tomorrow on a project thats not quite one of my favorites. I wish I was just taking pictures all the time!!!

christa & sean’s wedding. see the whole just-for-fun album here if you want. It was such a beautiful ceremony and reception – the decor/design of everything didn’t miss a beat. Wouldn’t expect anything less from an awesome designer like christa!

stay tuned: weekend of photos 3 later in the week edition will include some beautiful baby photos of my good friend Michelle’s neice! and maybe a kitten picture, if your lucky.

No time to post much but I wanted to share some of my favorites. Susan is a breast cancer survivor – who has come through unbelievable odds to where she is now in her life. Many didn’t think she would make it, but through the grace of God, you can see her family is blessed and still all in tact! Her wedding was themed around pink for this reason. I’ve had some, well one, request for these. Like I said… I don’t have a whole lot and Brian’s side of the family doesn’t really appreciate the camera, so I felt a bit stunted. There are some really beautiful shots thought that capture things, with a little photoshop finesse and touch up due to my crappy dirty sensor.

One of my best friends, Christy, finally got her playmate – a baby 9 week old cockapoo puppy named Violet. She was a little lethargic and tired this weekend, but when Kristin and I went to visit her we still got some adorable pictures. I wish I could do animal photography for a living sometimes! Christy was just glowing in the pictures – if she is this happy with a puppy, I can’t wait to take beautiful photos of her with her newborn baby (when the time comes)

I downloaded a photoshop action and had some fun with these… you can see how they’d be great for wedding photos or dreamy nature shots. I thought they were so cute for Violet! You obviously have to be careful with these things, but hey, it was fun!

This is a ROSE BUSH. It always freaks me out how plants start out SO tiny.

sidenote: It is 12:40am. I stayed up late getting some of the many things done that need to be done this weekend – I’m really glad I did, because although I am tired, I am much less stressed now! Thanks to some crazy second wind I get around 11:45 if I can stick it out, I decided to blog. Anyway, I was typing something into my google search bar in safari and I saw this message:

I know, baby pink is similar to magenta. But, you have to admit, pinks and purples are sort of dominant right now, especially in spring in the NorthEastern part of the country!

I don’t have much else to say except, HOLY CRAP ON THE OFFICE LAST NIGHT, I screamed a lot (sorry friends), and YAY FOR SUNDAY!!!!
